Most of you have already heard about our position as a finalist in the
Activating Empathy competition. In case you haven't, here's the 411:
The Heroic Imagination Project has been selected as a finalist (out
of a pool of 628 applicants from 74 countries) in the Activating
Empathycompetition
sponsored by Ashoka, a highly regarded organization, founded by Bill Drayton,
dedicated to supporting social entrepreneurs world-wide. Over
the past two years we've developed a curriculum designed to teach young people
the skills of everyday heroism and through our research-based programs have
impacted hundreds of students. As you probably already know, empathy is central
to our own “promising solution” which teaches children the capacity to stand up,
speak out and act courageously and effectively in challenging situations; to
become everyday heroes in their own lives, schools, and communities. This skill
set benefits young people from all walks of life; but is especially critical for
those who face the challenges of poverty. In
order to be eligible for additional prize money and gain greater visibility, we
need your vote!
Click on the voting button below today and share the link with your friends and
family. Since
they didn't list the name of our organization, you need to know to vote for: CREATING
A GENERATION OF EMPATHIC HEROS at https://www.changemakers.com/
After you've voted, copy
the 2 paragraphs above, copy into an email, and send to everyone you know. The
more personal your message is to friends and family, the more likely it is that
people will respond. Also, post it on your Facebook profiles, tweet it, and
share it in every other communities you participate in.
Happy Voting!
