Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Psychologist 3 (Pre-employment). This position will provide statewide support. The incumbent will be based in Tri-cities, Walla Walla or Lacey WA. The incumbent will: Interview, assess and evaluate Correctional Officer candidates and other corrections professional candidates for employment suitability in a corrections environment. Serve as psychological consultant and advisor to the Human Resources staff, supervisors and appointing authorities. Collaborate with HR staff facilitating the scheduling of psychological testing, interviews and file review, as well as communication regarding hiring decisions. Assist with the implementation and recommendation of standards, policies and procedures for pre-employment psychological assessments and written evaluation for correctional positions. Required Education, Experience, and Desirable Qualifications: A Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited school or department of Psychology.
