2011 WPA Convention
The 2011 WPA Convention will be in Los Angeles from April 28 to May 1, 2011 at the Wilshire Grand. The Terman Teaching Conference will be held on April 27, from 9am to 5pm. The hotel is very close to the LA Live Entertainment Complex, Disney Hall, and other downtown attractions. It is next to a metro station to take you to Union Station, Hollywood, and Universal City. Registration for the Cancun Convention
It is time to plan for the 2010 WPA convention in Cancun. Early registration is open until March 15 on the WPA website at www.westernpsych.org. The convention dates are April 22 -25 with the Terman Teaching Conference on April 21. We urge you to pre-register to avoid lines in Cancun. (more)
Presentations by Major Speakers at WPA
Steven Lopez of the University of Southern California, program chair for the 2010 convention, and WPA President Stanley Sue have invited an outstanding group of psychologists who will be presenting talks on a variety of topics. The WPA student council, headed by graduate student representative Michelle Rozenman, is arranging for student conversation hours to follow many of the speakers. (more)
Terman Teaching Conference Wednesday, April 21
The Terman Teaching Conference will again be held on the Wednesday prior to the WPA convention. This is an excellent value with a registration fee of only $25 if you register by March 15. The theme this year is Balance – It’s Not an Act, It’s a Profession! A complete description of the program and the registration form are on the WPA website. Statistics Workshop Schedule
A statistics workshop will be held each day of the WPA convention in Cancun. Titles of the workshops are provided below. Descriptions of the workshops are on the WPA website. A separate registration is required for attending a workshop. The registration form for the workshops is on the WPA website. Registration fees are $5 for students and $10 for professional members. You also must register for the convention to attend the workshops. (more)

Enjoying Your Visit to Cancun
Our hotel is located in the Cancun hotel zone, about 15 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from downtown. There are many restaurants and clubs close to the hotel. Buses run regularly and are safe and inexpensive. There is no shortage of websites devoted to advice on visiting Cancun. (more)

Saenz and Friedman Nominated for WPA President-Elect
Delia Saenz from Arizona State University and Howard Friedman of the University of California, Riverside have accepted the nomination for WPA President-Elect. The ballot will be sent to professional members in late February via e-mail notification. WPA will now do online elections each spring.
