Poster-Paper Recording Instructions
We wanted to inform you that you are now able to upload your posters into the virtual conference site. In order to do so, you must be the first author and/or primary contact on the submission. To access your submission, you may log into the site using this link https://www.xcdsystem.com/wpa/attendee/index.cfm?ID=L2GeA8R or simply go to the WPA website https://westernpsych.org/ and click on “Open Registration” on the home page.
Upon logging into the site, you will be presented with a list of your current poster and/or paper submissions. For each one, you will have the option to edit the submission or click on the “Authors” button to update authorship. Just below these options, you will see the option to “Upload Poster” (white button with a paper clip) and “Record Presentation” (a red button with a camera icon).
For posters, please attach the digital file of your poster. This would be the same as the one you would have created in order to print your poster for an in-person conference. Note that you may only upload the following file types: pdf, pdfx, and jpg. You will also need to record a brief summary of your work using the “Record Presentation” button. You may either upload a video that you’ve created on your own or record the presentation from within the system. If you opt to record through the system, you will have the option to switch between your camera and your poster via a “share screen” option. You may record as many times as you like, but note that every time you re-record your video, it will replace the previous one. As a result, you may want to save the video once you’ve created it. If you choose to record you video by some other means, you can still upload it, but it must be in MP4 format as no other video file types are supported.
Your presentation should be approximately three minutes. This would be the presentation you would have given to someone had they walked up to your in-person poster. Please note that your video will be deleted if it exceeds five minutes and you’ll be asked to re-record your presentation.
If attendees would like more information after hearing your summary and viewing your poster, your poster submission will have a dedicated chat function assigned to it and you’ll be able to reply to any questions that are asked. Ideally, you will be present during the time your poster is presented; however, if you can’t be, please remember to log back into the conference in order to respond to any questions asked.
Your recording must be submitted by (date to be announced, 2021). Any submission that does not have a poster and/or presentation attached to their poster will be withdrawn and removed from the conference program.
Additional information on recording your presentation can be found here: https://x-cd.com/virtual-presentation-guide/
For papers, you may use the “Upload Poster” option to provide any kind of handouts that you would have provided in an in-person conference. Note that you may only upload the following file types: pdf, pdfx, and jpg.
For your presentation, you will want to record a 15-minute talk. If you use our system to record your presentation, you’ll be able to switch between your camera and a screen share. As a result, you can opt to be seen some of the time and have your slides presented the rest of the time. You may re-record your presentation as many times as you like and you’ll also be able to download a copy of your recording once completed. You may also upload a video in place of recording one through our system, but note that only MP4 file types are supported.
We ask that you be available during your assigned paper session in order to be able to respond to questions asked through the dedicated chat function associated with your paper. If you are unable to do so, please be sure to log back into the system after your presentation time in order to respond to any questions attendees may have asked. Also, keep in mind that your presentation can be watched on-demand after it goes live during your scheduled presentation time, so people may ask questions later during the conference. As a result, you may want to log into the system once more at the conclusion of the conference to respond to any questions that are posted later.
Your recording must be submitted by (date to be announced, 2021). Any paper submissions that have not had recordings submitted will be withdrawn and removed from the conference program.

We look forward to seeing your presentations.
